FL8 Series
Developed by SEEKINGLED specifically for hazardous areas, the FL8 Series provides a reliable, high-performance explosion proof lights solution.
It employs the well-proven nR protection method (Restricted Breathing) and is fully certified for Zone 2 (gas) and Zone 22 (dust) hazardous locations.
The luminaire is ideally suited for use in petroleum, natural gas, chemical, military, marine lighting, airport lighting, and other hazardous area lighting applications.
A comprehensive power range is available — 50W, 75W, 100W, 120W, 150W, 200W, 240W, 300W — covering the most common project requirements.
With a luminous efficacy of up to 160LM/W and excellent colour rendering, it reproduces colours accurately and naturally — a clear improvement over traditional halogen luminaires: low heat output, instant ignition, and a long service life of 100,000 hours, resulting in considerably reduced maintenance and lower lifetime costs.
The design is compact with reduced volume and weight, allowing for straightforward and efficient installation.
A major practical benefit is the integrated explosion proof junction box, which removes the need to purchase and install a separate certified junction box, thereby significantly reducing overall project costs.
The explosion proof junction box is equipped with a built-in DIP switch, enabling simple on-site selection of three output levels: 100% – 75% – 50%. This flexibility means one luminaire can cover multiple power ratings, greatly simplifying inventory management for distributors and substantially reducing the number of required SKUs.
The product holds a genuine ATEX certificate issued by TÜV, in full compliance with European directives and accepted across all regions that recognise ATEX standards, providing complete regulatory assurance.

From an application point of view, the FL8 Series ATEX LED Explosion Proof Flood Lights are intended for Zone 2 gas and Zone 22 dust areas. These are locations where explosive atmospheres may occur occasionally, not continuously.
This explosion proof LED flood light uses the nR (Restricted Breathing) protection method. The enclosure limits the ingress of flammable gas and prevents ignition during normal operation.
In real projects, led explosion proof flood lights are commonly installed in oil and gas plants, chemical facilities, ports, airports, marine decks, military zones, and outdoor hazardous process areas.
Standard floodlights are not certified for hazardous areas. These explosion proof LED flood lights are ATEX certified and include structural features such as sealed housing and a certified junction box.
The FL8 Series covers 50W up to 300W. This range allows one led explosion proof flood light family to meet most project lighting requirements without mixing multiple product types.
On many sites, a separate certified junction box is required. With this led explosion proof flood lighting design, the junction box is integrated, reducing installation time, cost, and potential wiring errors.
Inside the junction box, a DIP switch allows selection of 100%, 75%, or 50% output. This means one led flood light explosion proof unit can cover several power ratings on site.
Different beam angles are available depending on project needs. This allows the same ATEX LED Explosion Proof Flood Lights platform to be used for area lighting, façade lighting, or equipment illumination.
At 25°C ambient temperature, the rated lifetime is L80B20 over 100,000 hours. In practice, ambient temperature and operating hours will influence actual service life.
