Bay51 Series
Developed by SEEKINGLED specifically for Zones 1 & 2 (gas) and Zones 21 & 22 (dust) hazardous locations, the Bay51 Series is a robust, high-performance LED linear explosion proof light solution.
Featuring a composite protection design combining flameproof (Ex d), increased safety (Ex e), and encapsulation (Ex m) principles, it fully complies with IEC/EN 60079-0, 60079-1, 60079-7, and 60079-18 standards.
Power Options and Emergency Functionality
Available in four power ratings: 20W, 40W, 60W, and 80W.
The integrated emergency lighting function ensures uninterrupted illumination, providing 5W output for a minimum of 3 hours during power failure – critical for maintaining safety in hazardous environments.
Versatile Installation and Practical Features
Multiple input/output interfaces allow easy daisy-chaining of multiple luminaires or single-unit installation.
A unique tool-free cover opening design enables quick, maintenance-free access without tools.
Built-in DIP switch provides on-site adjustment across three power levels: 100% – 75% – 50% – one luminaire covers multiple requirements, greatly simplifying distributor inventory and reducing the number of SKUs.

The Bay51 Series is designed around actual hazardous area requirements rather than lab-only parameters. It combines Ex d, Ex e and Ex m protection concepts in one linear fixture. This allows it to work reliably in Zone 1 & 2 gas areas and Zone 21 & 22 dust areas without relying on external protection methods.
In most retrofit projects, yes. The mounting size and linear form factor are intended to replace traditional explosion proof fluorescent lights. In practice, wiring and cable entry positions should still be checked on site, especially in older installations.
When mains power is lost, the emergency module provides 5W output for at least 3 hours. This is usually enough to maintain safe movement and basic visibility rather than full working illumination. The emergency function is optional and can be specified per project.
Many distributors and project contractors face SKU pressure. The built-in DIP switch allows 100%, 75% or 50% power output from the same luminaire. In real projects, this reduces stock complexity and avoids ordering multiple wattage models for similar areas.

Yes. The Bay51 Series is commonly used as pendant-mounted linear lighting in ship engine rooms and marine environments. Corrosion resistance and vibration tolerance are considered in the mechanical design.
The rated L80B20 lifetime exceeds 100,000 hours at 25°C. In real industrial environments, actual lifetime depends on ambient temperature and operating hours, but maintenance requirements are minimal compared to fluorescent systems.
SEEKINGLED supports projects mainly at the hardware and configuration level. This includes model selection, power setting guidance and basic installation advice. For large projects, drawings and specification clarification can be provided before deployment.
