The FL9 series is a lightweight explosion-proof LED floodlight developed and manufactured by SEEKINGLED for Zone 2 (gas) and Zone 22 (dust) explosive atmospheres. It holds ATEX and IECEx certification, suitable for Europe, Middle East, Asia-Pacific and global markets.
The luminaire uses a clean, lightweight aluminium housing — robust yet easy to handle and install in elevated, confined or frequently adjusted locations.
Key innovation: integrated terminal box (national invention patent granted). No separate junction box needed — direct rapid wiring reduces material costs and significantly shortens on-site installation time.
Power is adjustable via internal DIP switch: 60 W, 80 W, 100 W or 120 W, 150 W , 200 W — two model covers the full range with minimal SKUs, simplifying stock and logistics.
It supports D4i and DALI-2 dimming for integration with modern controls, plus programmable features: lumen maintenance (auto light decay compensation), thermal protection, and time-based intelligent dimming.
Designed for 5-year maintenance-free operation with efficient LEDs, good thermal management and durable build, ensuring reliable long-term performance in harsh industrial settings.

What makes FL9 explosion proof floodlights suitable for Zone 2 and Zone 22?

The FL9 ex proof light is certified for Zone 2 (gas) and Zone 22 (dust) under ATEX and IECEx. Structurally, it uses Ex nR and Ex tc protection concepts. In simple terms, the enclosure prevents ignition sources from escaping into a potentially explosive atmosphere.

Zone 2 is not Zone 1 — risk level is lower, but compliance is still mandatory. Many projects underestimate that. We don’t.

Is this an explosion proof led floodlight or just a “weatherproof” unit?

It is a true explosion proof led floodlight, not just IP-rated.

IP66 protects against water and dust ingress. Explosion-proof certification addresses ignition risk in hazardous gas or dust environments. Two different standards. If a supplier only talks about IP rating, that’s a red flag.

Can the FL9 replace traditional explosion-proof floodlights?

Yes, and it often does.

Traditional explosion-proof floodlights were bulky and heavy. The FL9 uses a lightweight aluminium housing. Easier lifting, easier mounting, less strain on elevated structures.

In retrofit projects, installers usually notice the difference immediately — especially on pipe racks or steel platforms.

How does the integrated terminal box help on site?

This is one of our patented designs. The terminal box is built inside the luminaire.

No external junction box required. No extra drilling. No extra bracket.

On a refinery turnaround project, saving even 15–20 minutes per fixture matters. Multiply that by 80 units. That’s real labor cost saved.

Are these explosion-proof floodlights suitable for mining?

For Zone 2 and Zone 22 classified areas in mining facilities, yes.

If you are looking for an explosion-proof mining floodlight specifically for methane-rich underground Zone 1 conditions, you need a different protection level. Always verify area classification first.

Floodlight explosion proof selection must match the hazardous zone. Guessing is dangerous.

What wattages are available?

The FL9 series explosion proof lighting led uses internal DIP switches. Adjustable power:
60W / 80W / 100W / 120W / 150W / 200W

Two models cover the full range.

This reduces SKU count. Distributors appreciate that. Inventory pressure goes down. Logistics becomes simpler.

What is the light efficiency and performance stability?

Up to 160 lm/W at CRI80.

More importantly, L80B20 >100,000 hours at 25°C. That means lumen depreciation is controlled.

We also include programmable lumen maintenance. The system compensates for LED aging automatically. That’s practical engineering, not just a data sheet number.

Does the explosion-proof led floodlight support smart control?

Yes. D4i and DALI-2 are supported.

You can integrate it into plant-level lighting control systems. Thermal protection and time-based dimming are programmable.

How durable is the housing?
