SEEKINGLED XJ-TFT900W Football Field Project
Outdoor football fields place very specific demands on lighting systems. The light must be strong, evenly distributed, and stable over long operating hours. At the same time, glare control and color quality matter just as much as raw brightness, especially for training sessions and competitive matches.
In 2024, a football stadium in France decided to upgrade its existing lighting system to better support professional-level training. After reviewing several options, the project team selected SEEKINGLED XJ-TFT900W TFT Series sports stadium lights as the main solution.
A total of 20 units were installed around the field.
The previous lighting setup no longer met current training requirements. While basic visibility was acceptable, light uniformity across the pitch was inconsistent. Some areas appeared noticeably darker, especially along the sidelines and goal zones.
For coaching staff and players, uneven lighting affects depth perception, ball tracking, and overall comfort during evening sessions. In addition, the stadium planned to support higher training intensity, which required better compliance with modern sports lighting standards.
Energy efficiency was another concern. The stadium operates lighting frequently during the season, and operating costs had been steadily increasing.
The XJ-TFT900W lights were installed without changing the existing pole layout, which helped keep the project schedule under control. Once commissioning was completed, on-site measurements confirmed a clear improvement.
The system achieved an average illuminance of over 500 LUX, with uniformity above 0.8 across the playing area. From ground level, the light appeared balanced and consistent, with no obvious bright spots or dark patches.
Color rendering also improved noticeably. With CRI above 80, players reported clearer visibility of field markings, ball movement, and teammate positioning, particularly during fast-paced drills.
Beyond the numbers, daily use was where the upgrade showed its real value. Training sessions could run longer without visual fatigue. Coaches noted that players adapted quickly to the new lighting, with fewer complaints about glare or shadowing.
The lighting system delivers up to 160 lm/W, helping the stadium reduce overall power consumption compared to the previous setup. This efficiency is especially important for facilities that operate several nights per week throughout the year.
The stable output and controlled beam distribution also make the system suitable for both routine training and competitive matches.
This project highlights how modern sports stadium LED lighting can meet professional requirements without excessive system complexity. By using fewer, higher-output fixtures, the stadium achieved better lighting quality while keeping installation and maintenance manageable.
As part of SEEKINGLED’s broader lighting portfolio—including explosion proof lights, LED high bay lights, LED flood lights, LED street lights, garden LED lights, LED tri-proof lamps, and linear LED lighting—the TFT Series is designed specifically for demanding outdoor sports environments.
