This project involved a theater building with more than one functional lighting requirement. It was not a single open hall, but two spaces that behaved differently and were used differently.
At the start, the customer’s request sounded simple: reduce energy use and improve light distribution. But once the layout and usage were clarified, it became obvious that one lighting setup would not work everywhere.
One area was closer to an outdoor or semi-open environment. It was not fully exposed, but it interacted with ambient light and audience movement. The other area was fully indoor, controlled, and more sensitive to brightness and tone, especially during rehearsals and musical performances.
That distinction mattered. Treating both rooms the same would have been easier, but not correct.
We stayed with a single fixture model, XJ-HBL150W LED High Bay Light , to keep installation and maintenance consistent. The difference came from configuration.
For the outer space, warm white high bays were selected. The idea was to keep the environment calm and visually comfortable, especially before and after performances. This was not about brightness alone, but how people felt when entering or leaving the space.
For the indoor hall, cool white high bays were installed. This area required clearer visibility for equipment, seating, and movement during setup. The lux requirement was higher and more controlled.
We checked spacing carefully. In a theater, uneven light is noticeable faster than in a warehouse.
Mounting heights varied slightly between the two rooms. That affected beam spread more than expected, so spacing was adjusted during planning rather than after installation.
No decorative lighting was added. The high bays were meant to disappear once powered on. During test runs, the light blended into the space without pulling attention to the fixtures themselves, which was the goal.
Once operational, the theater staff reported that the spaces felt more usable across different activities. Rehearsals, maintenance, and audience flow could all happen under the same fixed lighting, without frequent adjustments.
This LED High Bay Lighting for Theater Space project did not rely on dramatic changes. It was about making correct decisions early and avoiding unnecessary complexity later.
