This project was carried out at the Pirelli tire factory in Brazil. The environment was a typical heavy industrial space: high ceilings, large production equipment, and continuous operation throughout the day. Lighting in this type of facility is not decorative and not flexible. Once installed, it needs to work consistently without adjustment.
From the beginning, the discussion focused on visibility on the production floor. The factory team was concerned with how clearly operators could see working areas, especially around machinery and material handling zones.
The ceiling height and open structure pointed directly toward a high-power high bay solution. Lower wattage fixtures would have required either tighter spacing or more units, which was not preferred by the site team.
We reviewed the layout and working zones and aligned on using the XJ-HBG240W-2 as the base fixture. At this stage, the decision was not about pushing brightness, but about reaching usable light levels at floor and machine height without overcomplicating the layout.
The XJ-HBG240W was selected because it matched the scale of the space. In tire manufacturing, shadows around large equipment can slow down work or create safety concerns. A higher-output fixture helps reduce those gaps when spacing is fixed.
We focused on maintaining even coverage rather than changing the structure of the lighting grid. The goal was to let the fixtures support existing workflows instead of forcing changes to them.
Installation followed the planned layout. No special mounting solutions were required. The fixtures were positioned according to the factory’s existing infrastructure, which helped keep the process straightforward.
During initial power-on, we walked the floor with the site team. The feedback was practical: work areas were clearer, and visibility around production lines improved. There were no requests for repositioning or additional fixtures, which usually indicates that the planning stage was aligned with real conditions.
Once the system was fully operational, the factory continued normal production without interruption. The Pirelli team expressed satisfaction with the lighting conditions, particularly in terms of overall visibility and consistency across the space.
From an engineering point of view, this LED High Bay Lighting for Tire Factory project was about scale and restraint. The solution did not rely on complexity. It relied on selecting a fixture that fit the environment and letting it do its job.
