In outdoor hazardous areas with explosive gas atmospheres — like refineries or oil tank farms — what kind of explosion-proof lights should you use?
It all comes down to how close you are to the tank opening. Within a 3-meter radius is Zone 1, and anything beyond that is Zone 2.
For Zone 1, lights under 60W are usually more than enough. But for lighting up large open outdoor spaces, you’ll need higher-power flood lights.
SEEKINGLED has developed the FL8 series explosion-proof lights. There are three sizes:
S size: 50W – 75W – 100W
M size: 120W – 150W – 200W
L size: 200W – 240W – 300W
Maximum power is 300W, delivering up to 48,000 lumens. Even on a 12-meter pole, it easily handles all your outdoor lighting needs.
It gives you up to 160 lumens per watt with a default CRI of 80. Compared to traditional HID explosion-proof lights (usually only T2), the FL8 series easily achieves T5-T6 temperature class. That means much lower surface temperature and a significantly lower risk of igniting an explosion.
Inside, there’s a built-in DIP switch that lets you freely adjust the power and brightness. This makes life much easier for dealers — far fewer SKUs to keep in stock. All exposed screws and brackets are 304 stainless steel, it has full TUV ATEX certification, and comes with a 5-year warranty.
