Brand: SEEKINGLED
Project Location: USA
Application: Steel factory / industrial production area
This project took place in a steel factory in the United States, where 400W metal halide fixtures had been used for many years. The lighting layout was already fixed, and the customer did not want to redesign mounting positions or change working routines. The main request was to reduce power consumption while maintaining or improving light levels on the factory floor.
Before confirming the replacement plan, one concern came up repeatedly during discussions: dust. The production environment generates fine dust, and the customer was worried that LED high bays Light with dense heat sink structures might trap dust over time, leading to reduced performance or extra maintenance.
For this reason, we tested the XJ-HBS150W led high bay lights (Product NO: XJ-HBS150W-2) under similar operating conditions. The fixture relies on natural air convection rather than forced airflow. During testing, dust did not accumulate heavily on the heat sink surface. Heat dissipation remained stable, and there was no visible impact on light output. Based on these observations, we confirmed that the design was suitable for this type of factory environment.
Installation followed a one-to-one replacement method. The original 400W metal halide fixtures were removed, and the XJ-HBS150W units were installed using the same mounting points. No additional brackets or structural modifications were required. Power was reduced immediately after replacement, but illumination on the working surface increased compared to the previous system.
After commissioning, measurements showed energy savings of up to 63%. At the same time, lux levels on the production floor were higher and more uniform than before. From an operational perspective, the lighting response was stable, with no flicker or warm-up delay, which was a noticeable improvement compared to metal halide lamps.
From a project management standpoint, this was a straightforward retrofit. The customer did not report any dust-related issues after installation and expressed satisfaction with both the lighting quality and the reduced operating cost. For similar steel or heavy industrial facilities in the USA, this project demonstrates that the XJ-HBS150W high bay can replace traditional 400W metal halide fixtures without compromising reliability.
