Product NO: XJ-HBS150W-2
Brand: SEEKINGLED
This factory originally used 600W metal halide lamps. The system had been running for years, and from a maintenance point of view, it was still workable. However, the lighting no longer matched the current production layout. Some machines had been moved, and several lamp positions also needed to be changed.
Because of this, we did not treat the project as a simple replacement. Before proposing any quantity or wattage, we first reviewed the existing installation height, spacing, and the areas where lighting complaints were most frequent. The factory wanted brighter light on the working floor, but also wanted to reduce power consumption at the same time.
We carried out a new lighting design and simulation based on the updated layout. After discussion with the client, we decided to test the XJ-HBS150W-2 on site instead of making a full replacement immediately. A small number of samples were installed and operated continuously for about one month.
During this test period, the factory team focused on two things. One was whether the brightness was actually better than the old 600W MH lamps. The other was whether fewer fixtures could cover the same area without creating dark zones. Based on daily feedback from the site, the lighting felt clearer, especially in areas that were previously uneven.
After the trial, the factory approved the full upgrade plan. In the final installation, 96 units of 600W metal halide lamps were replaced with 80 units of XJ-HBS150W-2. The reduction in quantity was mainly due to the redesigned layout and improved light distribution, not just wattage reduction.
After installation, the factory confirmed that overall energy consumption dropped by more than 75%, while the working areas were noticeably brighter than before. From our perspective as the project side, this result mainly came from proper design and testing, rather than a direct one-to-one replacement.
This project shows that for factory upgrades, testing and redesign are often more important than simply choosing a higher-power lamp. The client was satisfied with both the lighting result and the energy savings achieved with SEEKINGLED led high bay lights.
