In May 2024, SEEKINGLED completed a lighting installation for an automotive testing facility that required controlled and measurable light levels for daily vehicle testing work. The project used 400 units of XJ-HBF150W LED High Bay Light, installed across the main testing area.
This site is not a standard warehouse or storage hall. Vehicles are tested under fixed routes and positions, and high-definition cameras are used to record movement, surface details, and component behavior. Because of this, lighting is treated as part of the testing system, not just general illumination.

Before selecting the fixtures, the client provided clear targets rather than asking for “brighter light.” The main requirements were:
These values were based on the camera system already in use at the facility. Any lighting solution that could not meet vertical illuminance requirements was ruled out early.
After reviewing several options, the XJ-HBF150W LED High Bay Light was chosen. Higher wattage models were discussed, but they were not necessary once the layout was adjusted. The goal was not to oversize the fixtures, but to reach the required light levels with reasonable spacing and manageable power consumption.
The installation layout focused on consistency rather than visual effect. Beam angles and mounting height were selected to support both horizontal working areas and vertical camera views.
Once installation was completed, on-site measurements confirmed that the lighting system reached the required values. The average horizontal illuminance at 1 meter was around 1500 lux, and vertical illuminance met the 1000 lux target used by the camera system.
More importantly, the light distribution remained stable across the testing zones. This reduced the need for temporary lighting or camera-side adjustments, which had been an issue with the previous system.

From an operational point of view, the new LED High Bay Light system simplified daily testing work. Camera recordings became more consistent, and operators no longer needed to compensate for uneven lighting in certain areas.
The LED system also reduced power consumption compared to the previous setup, which helped lower operating costs without compromising test conditions. Maintenance requirements were reduced as well, which is important for facilities running frequent test cycles.
This project shows how LED High Bay Light solutions can be adapted for technical environments where lighting directly affects measurement quality. The XJ-HBF150W was not selected for marketing reasons, but because it matched the actual needs of the site.
For automotive testing facilities, lighting should always be designed based on camera and workflow requirements. When that approach is followed, stable results and long-term reliability are easier to achieve.
