- XJ-FLA960W LED Flood Light
- XJ-HBS200W-2 LED High Bay
Brand: SEEKINGLED
This record was written after the lighting system had been installed and running under normal airport operations.
Airport lighting is a different category altogether. The environment does not pause. Aircraft movements, service vehicles, and personnel operate on fixed schedules, and lighting has to stay predictable. In this project, the lighting scope covered both large open areas and enclosed operational spaces, which meant two different fixture types were required from the beginning.
Planning and Fixture Selection
For open areas requiring long-distance coverage, XJ-FLA960W LED Flood Lights were selected. The main concern here was not peak brightness, but visibility consistency over distance. Uneven light or dark pockets create operational risk, especially during night movements.
For interior and covered areas, XJ-HBS200W-2 LED High Bay Lights were used. Ceiling height and mounting points were fixed. There was limited tolerance for rework, so fixture selection had to align with the existing structure.
Installation Constraints
Installation had to be coordinated around airport activity. Work windows were controlled, and progress was made in sections. Flood lights were installed and aimed incrementally, with checks done before moving to the next zone. Once access equipment was removed, adjustments would be difficult, so alignment was checked carefully on site.
High bay installation was more straightforward but still required attention to spacing and glare control, especially in areas where staff work for extended periods.
Operational Observations
After commissioning, the lighting output across both zones was stable. Large-area visibility under the flood lights felt continuous rather than patchy. In indoor areas, the high bays provided sufficient working light without creating sharp contrasts.
Energy consumption was reviewed as part of the project close-out, as this was one of the airport’s internal evaluation points. The new LED system aligned with their efficiency targets.
No changes were requested after handover.
This project followed a clear logic: use the right type of light for each zone, avoid overcomplication, and keep performance predictable. For an Airport LED Lighting Project for Apron and Terminal Areas, reliability mattered more than anything else.
