A 200W LED street light is rarely chosen by accident. In most projects I’ve worked on, it appears only when the site demands serious output—wide roads, high mounting heights, or environments where uniform illumination must be maintained without adding more poles.
I’ve spent over 15 years working in outdoor and roadway lighting, including industrial zones, highways, and logistics hubs across Europe and North America. In that time, 200 watt street have proven to be a practical alternative to 400–600W metal halide or high-pressure sodium lamps, provided the optics, driver, and thermal design are handled properly.
The SEEKINGLED STA Series 200W LED street light is designed around that reality.
Despite improvements in LED efficiency, higher wattage fixtures remain necessary in certain applications. According to IES RP-8-21 (Recommended Practice for Roadway Lighting), roads with wider carriageways or higher traffic volumes require higher maintained illuminance and uniformity ratios.
A 200W LED street light operating at 150 lm/W delivers 30,000 lumens, which allows designers to:
This often results in lower overall project cost, even when individual fixtures consume more power.

In real installations, I’ve consistently seen 200W LED street lights perform best in:
Lower wattage fixtures struggle to maintain uniformity in these spaces, especially when mounting heights exceed 9–12 meters.

The STA Series uses TPⅡM, TPⅡS, TPⅢM, and TPⅢS beam patterns, allowing designers to match light distribution to road width and pole spacing. This aligns with IES guidance that emphasizes optical control over raw lumen output.
In practice, controlled beams reduce glare and improve visibility without wasting light beyond the roadway.
At 200W, this Municipal LED Street Lighting produces 30,000 lumens. Replacing a typical 600W metal halide system (actual draw often exceeds 650W including ballast), the energy savings can reach 60–65%, consistent with findings published by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) on LED roadway retrofits.
Over 4,000 operating hours per year, that translates to:
These savings accumulate quickly in large-scale projects.

The smooth housing design helps reduce dust accumulation—something often overlooked in industrial or coastal areas. Combined with IP66 waterproofing and IK08 impact resistance, the fixture is built for long service intervals.
The isolated SOSEN driver and 10kV surge protection provide additional resilience against voltage fluctuations, aligning with IEC surge protection recommendations.
The STA Series is rated L80B20 >100,000 hours @25°C, based on LED lumen maintenance methodologies defined by LM-80 and TM-21 standards.
In practical terms, this supports:
With PF ≥0.95 and low THD, the fixture also supports grid stability, which matters in large installations.
With wattages ranging from 50W to 240W, the STA Series LED Street Light allows designers to keep a consistent fixture style while scaling output as needed.
A 200W LED street light is not about excess—it’s about coverage, control, and consistency. In projects where space is wide and lighting demands are high, this wattage class remains one of the most reliable solutions.
Based on long-term field experience and established industry standards, the SEEKINGLED STA Series 200W LED street light offers a balanced combination of output, efficiency, and durability—without unnecessary complexity.
For engineers and planners facing large-scale outdoor lighting challenges, this is a solution built to last.
