Project Location: Germany
Application: Indoor Gym / Fitness Facility
Product Model: XJ-HBL Series
Brand: SEEKINGLED
This project involved a gym space in Germany that was already in regular use. The request was not framed around brightness or power at first. The customer was more concerned about how the light felt during workouts. They mentioned glare early in the discussion, which usually means the previous lighting had been visually tiring.
From the start, we treated this as a comfort-driven lighting project rather than a lumen-driven one.
The gym had open training areas and clear ceiling height suitable for high bay fixtures. However, people in this space are constantly looking upward—during weight training, stretching, or group exercises. That changes how light needs to be handled. Direct glare becomes noticeable much faster than in industrial spaces.
At that point, we leaned toward keeping the XJ-HBL series as the base fixture but adjusting the optical side rather than changing the whole product.
We recommended using frosted glass instead of a clear cover. The intention was simple: reduce direct glare without complicating the installation or changing the housing design. This was discussed briefly with the customer. There was no long back-and-forth. They understood the reasoning and agreed quickly.
Once that was settled, we moved forward with a Dialux calculation. The goal was not to chase a high average lux number, but to confirm uniformity and avoid hot spots directly under the fixtures.
The Dialux results matched what we expected. Light distribution was even across the main activity zones, and the frosted glass helped soften the beam edge. We did not adjust mounting heights during calculation, which kept the plan closer to real installation conditions.
This step mattered. It gave both sides confidence that the lighting would behave the same way on site as it did on screen.
Installation followed the calculated layout. No additional accessories were added. After the system was powered on, the customer walked the space and tested it during normal gym activity hours.
Their feedback focused on how the space felt rather than how it looked. The light was described as even and comfortable, without sharp contrast or glare during movement. That aligned with our original assumption when choosing the frosted glass option.
For this LED High Bay Lighting for Gym Spaces project, the main decisions were made early. Once those were right, the rest of the work stayed straightforward.
